Privacy policy

This policy covers the Formatly app for iPhone (“the app”) and the website useformatly.com (“the website”). Formatly is built to be private: there are no accounts, and your photos are converted on your own device.

Your photos stay on your device

The app converts photos on your iPhone. Photos you select, the files you create, your settings and your history are not sent to us.
The free converter on the website runs in your browser. The photo you choose is converted on your own device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
Converted files are saved only where you choose: Photos, Files, or an app you share them with.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address or login details. There is no sign up and no password.

Purchases

The app is free to download, with a free tier and paid access through Formatly Premium (a subscription or a one-time purchase). Apple processes all payments; we never see your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat to check purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID, purchase information and standard device information.

Analytics and app performance

The app uses UXCam to understand how the app is used and to find problems. UXCam collects usage and diagnostic information, such as screens viewed, taps, session length, crashes, and device and iOS version. This information is not linked to your real-world identity, and it does not include your photos.

The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across sites. The website sets no cookies.

Children

The app and website are meant for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third parties

Apple: App Store downloads and payments, under Apple’s own privacy policy.
RevenueCat: purchases and subscriptions.
UXCam: app usage analytics and performance.
Cloudflare: hosting and privacy-friendly visit counts for the website.

Your choices

You can delete the app at any time, which removes its data from your device. You manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Your device’s privacy settings can limit some data collection.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date above. Continuing to use the app or website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
